Josina Lott is teaming up with the local offices of the American Red Cross to host a community training event on hands-only CPR. This free event will be hosted on the campus of Josina Lott and is open to individuals of ALL abilities on Saturday October 24 from 10am to 1pm. Classes will begin on the hour and generally last a half hour. Light refreshments will be served.
Hands-only CPR is a potentially life-saving technique utilizing continuous chest compressions only and no mouth to mouth contact. Research has shown that, in some cases, hands-only CPR can be more effective than traditional CPR since there are no pauses; nonstop chest compressions maintain a continuous flow of blood to the brain and vital organs.
When an individual goes into cardiac arrest their survival depends on immediately receiving CPR. We welcome the public to join us to acquire the skills that could potentially save a life!
Classes: 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm
RSVPs welcome, but not required. To RSVP contact Tonda at 419.866.9013 ext. 148 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
13abc News Chief Meteorologists Visits
Josina Lott at River Crossings
Residents and staff were very excited to welcome 13abc Action News Chief Meteorologist Jay Berschback to River Crossings!
Jay did so much more than just talk weather safety with residents. He shared insights into his job as a television meteorologist, explaining he has many roles as a meteorologist including part scientist, part artist, and part performer. He then demonstrated some of the real tools of his trade – a barometer, anemometer, digital rain gauge – tools that he relies on every day to give us an accurate weather forecast. And finally, Jay did speak about how we can all stay safe during weather warnings and watches.
Our sincere appreciation to Jay Berschback and the 13abc family for spending time with us this afternoon and creating a wonderful early summer memory for the individuals we serve!
